Executive Creative Director / J. Walter Thompson Riyadh
Originally from Lebanon, Aoun has been getting under the skin of consumers in the region since reading Graphic Design at the American University of Beirut. After graduating in 2004 he began building his creative reputation at J. Walter Thompson Dubai, before taking up the challenge of Creative Director with J. Walter Thompson Riyadh, in 2011. Aoun has worked across diverse business sectors including banking, food & beverage, telecommunications, aviation, luxury and FMCG.
In Saudi Arabia - which is widely perceived as an ultra-challenging market in which to work - Aoun discovered that restrictions bring with them a unique set of opportunities for the creative department’s performance. Campaign by campaign, and award after award, he has helped J. Walter Thompson turn the world’s perception of advertising standards in KSA, entirely around.
Aoun’s energy and passion have produced groundbreaking work for brave clients, which have been recognized at international award shows, including the New York Festivals in 2015; and achieved the first-ever Grand Prix of any agency in Saudi Arabia, at Dubai Lynx in 2015. Together with other medals from important regional shows - such as the MENA Effies - J. Walter Thompson Saudi Arabia has established itself as the most awarded agency in the Kingdom.
Recently promoted to Executive Creative Director overlooking both Riyadh and Jeddah teams, Aoun will continue to build on the creative legacy of his predecessor, and hunt for solutions that genuinely inspire and engage consumers.
